Resilience Service in Buckinghamshire

The Service

Connection Support Resilience Service will identify people at an early stage of being at Risk of Homelessness, work with clients to prevent homelessness and build resilience to prevent a repeat of these risks. 

This service has been commissioned by a consortium of all four District Councils in Bucks (AVDC, CDC/SBDC, WDC) and Buckinghamshire County Council funded by money from the Department for Communities and Local Government’s (DCLG) Trailblazer initiative.

What can we help with?

Our dedicated team offer free and confidential support which includes:

Welfare Benefit Check to ensure you are receiving all you are entitled to
Help to complete forms and apply for benefits
Budgeting and debt management support
Ensuring that you are getting best value utilities (water, electricity, gas etc.)
Negotiating rent arrears with landlords (private and social landlords)
Link you to specialist services such as mental health support, substance misuse agencies etc.

Do you meet the criteria?

You must be:
Over 16 years and living in Buckinghamshire
Facing a situation which may eventually lead to being at risk of homelessness i.e. less than a month in rent/mortgage arrears

You may be:
In rented accommodation
Have a mortgage

How do we work?

A Resilience Worker will meet with you to work out what support you need to help your keep your home.

After a referral, we will contact you to set up an initial meeting. Thereafter, we will keep in touch regularly by phone or face to face. We will create a Resilience Plan with you to provide immediate support and long-term self-resilience. The length of support varies from a few weeks up to a six months.
