We’re thrilled to announce some exciting news: we’ve been ranked as the 7th best charity to work for in the UK by Best Companies. This incredible recognition reflects our commitment to creating a workplace where passion, purpose, and people come together.
At Connection Support, our team is committed to supporting everyone in our society to become safely and sustainably housed and to live as independently as possible. At the heart of our organisation are over 200 staff members, supported by over 100 volunteers, to deliver a range of services across Buckinghamshire, Milton Keynes and Oxfordshire; empowering people to change their lives and build resilience for the future.
This is our third year taking part in the Best Companies b-Heard engagement staff survey b-Heard staff engagement survey, and as part of our results analysis, Best Companies ranks the participating organisations in league tables across sectors, regionally, and nationally. The results were announced last week, and we’re delighted that we’ve moved from 12th place in 2023, to 7th place in the charity sector league table. In the Regional table, we moved from 37th to 24th place, and in the National table, we moved from up to 23rd place (from 60th place in 2023). These rankings are also in addition to achieving avery high 2–Star accreditation as ‘an outstanding company to work for’.
Commenting on the results Chris Keating, CEO said: “My motivation is for Connection SUpport to be the best place to work that it can be, that’s why we do our staff survey. We want to know what’s working well and what we can improve, and ultimately, we want to create an environment that reflects our values, and that people can thrive in. To find out that Connection Support has moved up in the ranks to become the 7th best charity to work for in the UK is a fantastic feeling, but this ranking isn’t just about where we stand on a list; it’s a reflection that we’re taking the right steps and are working in alignment with who we are as an organisation. It speaks to the supportive, inclusive environment we strive to develop every day. When we foster a positive workplace, we strengthen our ability to serve our clients, the community, deepen our impact, and extend our reach. We don’t do this for the ranking, we do it to continually improve, but the ranking demonstrates this is truly happening! This achievement wouldn’t be possible without every single one of our staff members, trustees and volunteers. Their dedication, hard work, and passion are the heartbeat of our organisation. They bring our mission to life, and I wanted to say how grateful I am for everything they do. I’m very excited about what the future holds. Thank you to everyone who made this achievement possible – we couldn’t have done it without you! Here’s to more growth, more impact, and our continued journey as one of the best charities to work for in the UK.”
To have this recognition is fantastic and a real celebration of every single team member at Connection Support. The feedback from the survey alongside upcoming staff feedback sessions will influence priorities and highlight where improvements need to be made. We strive to have an open and trusting culture to ensure we are and will continue to be, a great place to work!
