Volunteer Roles in Oxfordshire
Emergency Department Navigators
Can you work alongside vulnerable people and empower them to take on their complex social needs?
Are you someone who wants to support the NHS during its time of need? Are you confident in your communication skills, or seeking to develop your abilities?
Volunteer as a Navigator at the Horton Hospital in Banbury. You will signpost, refer or empower patients to tackle complex social issues; supporting patients to end the cycle of repeated Emergency department admissions as part of our Violence Reduction Service.

Can you spare a few hours on occasional early mornings to work alongside our Outreach Support Worker? You will wake up indentified rough sleepers with the aim of helping them to access suitable accommodation.
Community Language Volunteer
To support with the interpretation and translation of verbal and written information, this may include translating written information and specific text from Connection’s publicity leaflets and media materials. The role will involve working with Connection’s support workers and their clients who cannot communicate in English. Interpreting and translating for both clients and their allocated support workers.
English Teaching Volunteer – Cherwell District
To provide one-to-one teaching support for clients who are trying to improve their English within the Syrian Vulnerable people Refugee Service (SVPRS) programme. To assist people within the SVPRS programme to achieve a basic standard to allow them to enrol on an accredited ESOL course.
Volunteer Employment Coach
To encourage and support clients on a one-to-one basis to find suitable employment, volunteering or training. To assess each individual and help prepare them for meaningful and suitable employment.
Volunteer Digital Buddy
To improve the lives of clients by enabling digital inclusion; encouraging and supporting clients to access I.T and to build confidence in using a computer.
Volunteer Roles in Buckinghamshire
To provide support, motivation, encouragement and advice to parents enabling them to create a stable positive environment in which their children can thrive. During COVID-19 this is being provided through WhatsApp video calls. You will receive training and be a vital member of the Boost service.
Volunteer Phone Befriender
We are seeking befrienders (via the phone due to COVID) to provide assistance to Support Workers in delivering support to clients to help them prevent or reduce social isolation. You will be a part of our Prevention Matters service.
