RESTART Thames Valley

The service

RESTART Thames Valley focusses on creating a systematic change to reduce reoffending in the area. Over half of people released from prison in the Thames Valley re-offend within 12 months. This project, delivered in partnership with Aspire Oxfordshire, Browns Community Services, Parents And Children Together (PACT) and Thames Valley Partnership, aims to break the cycle by offering support prior to and post-release from prison.

What can we help with?

  • Finding accommodation
  • Tenancy sustainment
  • Accessing benefits
  • Employment, training, and education opportunities
  • Access to support services such as mental health, drug, or alcohol issues

Who is this service for?

People who are being released from Bullingdon Prison in Oxfordshire (Men) and Bronzefield Prison in Surrey (Women).

What can I expect from this service?

Person-centred support prior to and post-release from prison, holistically addressing the individual issues that can lead to reoffending.

How do we work?

RESTART Workers are available in the prisons offering support up to 6 months prior to release. They build up trusted relationships and then continue to provide support post-release to ensure that the risks of reoffending are minimised.
