Syrian Vulnerable Persons Relocation Scheme

The Service

This service is specifically for Syrian Refugees resettling in the UK as part of  Central Government’s SVPRS scheme (Syrian Vulnerable Persons Resettlement Scheme). We support families in Oxford and the Cherwell district on behalf of Oxford City Council and Cherwell District Council.

What can we help with?

We provide a range of emotional and practical support to help the families settle into everyday life. This includes supporting them to manage the massive transition from camps in Jordan or Turkey in the Middle East to living in Oxfordshire, connecting to health and mental health support, schools, language classes, local Syrian families, maintaining their tenancy, budgeting and understanding money. Ultimately we support the families into work as much as possible so that they can live independently here.

Do you meet the criteria?

Individuals and families are selected by the government from the refugee camps.

How do we work?

We work closely with both statutory and voluntary agencies across Oxfordshire to ensure that families get the correct support. We deliver planned, structured, individualised support to the families through a Support Planning process. All documents are translated into Arabic and we have Arabic-speaking staff members too.

How can I apply?

There is no application to this service.
