All Refugee Resettlement Support

The Service

This service is for all refugees resettling in the UK as part of  Central Government’s UKRS (UK Resettlement Scheme). The families supported live in the South and Vale and the Cherwell District areas of Oxfordshire.

What can we help with?

We provide a range of emotional and practical support to help the families settle into everyday life. This includes supporting them to manage the massive transition from camps and unsettled accommodation in neighbouring countries to their own, this includes families from Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Afghanistan, Republic of Congo.

The support they receive helps them to make a home in Oxfordshire. The team connect the families to health and mental health support, schools, language classes, local community groups. They help the families maintain their tenancy, budgeting skills and understand money. Ultimately we support the families into work as much as possible so that they can live independently in Oxfordshire.

Do you meet the criteria?

Individuals and families are selected by the Home Office and UNHCR from the refugee camps and unsettled accommodation.

How do we work?

We work closely with both statutory and voluntary agencies across Oxfordshire to ensure that families get the correct support. We deliver planned, structured, individualised support to the families through a Support Planning process. All documents are translated into their local language and we have bi-lingual members of staff and volunteers.
