Can you spare some time to help our support workers communicate with people we help who have Polish as their first language? you will be occasionally contacted by phone, within times that you specify you may be available, to help translate or interpret conversations between our support workers and vulnerable people we are assisting. You may also be contacted to help translate question forms or help leaflets from English to Polish.
You’ll help to:
- Support vulnerable Polish people to explain their circumstances and gain direct support or advice regarding other agencies that can help.
- Enable our Support Workers to better understand what help is required.
- Support our Outreach Workers in assessing the needs of rough sleepers, with the aim of helping and supporting them to access and maintain secure and suitable accommodation.
- Speed up the access to support for vulnerable Polish speakers who would otherwise be restricted by language barriers.
Full training and support will be provided. Expenses are covered.
