At Connection Support, our team of over 200 staff members and 150 volunteers work alongside people to overcome life’s challenges, with the goals of solving homelessness and achieving independence.

We do this through our values of empowerment, collaboration, compassion and taking a personalised approach in all aspects of our work. Our projects are focussed on homelessness and housing, mental health, family support, young peoples’ support, and refugee resettlement.

Our Step Down service in Oxford provides a support service for people who are ready to be discharged from hospital but lack suitable accommodation to continue their recovery.

We are currently recruiting for an inspirational Team Manager who is passionate about developing our Step Down service and its team.

About the role

Responsible for the day-to day management of the service, you will manage resources, lead and empower Case Workers, who work with clients to access accommodation and resources, and build or improve skills to enable clients to move onto permanent accommodation and live independently.

You will ensure the effective running of the service, monitor outcomes, ensure contractual compliance, liaise with teams across the organisation, and support the Operations Manager’s when needed.

This role is fixed term until 1st June 2025, working 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday, 9 – 5 with the flexibility to work until 8pm on occasion to ensure the effective running of the service.

Salary £35,249 – £39,038 per annum, dependent on experience. You may also need to support on-call on occasion which is paid in addition to your annual salary.

About you.

Your inspirational leadership and natural ability to want to improve outcomes for people and help make the lives of others fulfilling is what drives you to want to work in an environment that has its challenges but is also fun and rewarding.

You will have at least 2 years’ experience of working as a Team Manager in either the homelessness sector, housing, mental health, or other similar settings. In addition, your experience should include the supervision of staff, and you can demonstrate your understanding of the support planning, and monitoring outcomes process. Ideally you will have knowledge of the housing and benefits system, although this is not essential.

You should be able to demonstrate your excellent communication and relationship building skills, as well as you’re contributing to, monitoring, and implementing improved outcomes for people.

Due to this post supporting people and teams within Oxfordshire a driver’s licence and access to a vehicle is essential.
