At Connection Support, our team of over 200 staff members and 150 volunteers work alongside people to overcome life’s challenges, with the goals of solving homelessness and achieving independence.

About the role.

Providing a planned programme of support to clients through the gate and in the community post-release from Bullingdon prison, you will work in an individualised person-centered way, to access and retain suitable accommodation, health and wellbeing services, substance misuse support, applying for benefits, employment and any other additional services required to live an independent life.

Building skills, developing routines, and planning for their future is key to the services aim of reducing the risk of reoffending, becoming homeless and supporting people to develop resilience and confidence to live independently.

This is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference to people’s lives.

This role is fixed term until 31st October working Monday – Friday, with full and part time hours available.

You will be supporting people across the Thames Valley area, so a driver’s licence, access to a vehicle and happy to travel are essential. Mileage is paid and all travel visiting clients is within working hours.

Salary £24,397 – £26,649 per annum, pro rata dependent on experience.

The closing date will be Wednesday 8th May. Interviews will take place on Tuesday 14th May at our office in Aylesbury.

 About you.

You will either have lived experience or professional experience working with people with complex needs, ex- offenders, mental health, substance misuse or a similar environment.

You have the ability and patience to support people in understanding how to access services and understand the importance of researching and seeking information about local community resources, and the value of building connections with other agencies, ensuring the best support for your clients.

Ideally, you will have used Microsoft Office and Outlook and have some experience of recording and maintaining information. Your natural ability to connect with people, and your excellent listening skills allow you to approach difficult situations with a patient, calm approach. You have a strong resilience to not give up and can work creatively to find solutions.
